Accounting Manager

Department: Accounting & Finance
Location: Paoli, PA

About the Role

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for supervising the accounting team and overseeing day-to-day financial operations, including general ledger accounting and controls, taxes, and financial statement preparation. The successful candidate will ensure that financial records are accurate, timely, and compliant with accounting standards. They will also help implement financial policies and procedures, drive accounting for M&A transactions, and play a key role in ERP implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruiting, managing, and developing a best-in-class accounting department.
  • Overseeing all general ledger accounting operations; ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and conformity with US GAAP.
  • Managing the general ledger close and consolidation across multiple subsidiaries.
  • Overseeing timely and accurate financial statement preparation and management reporting.
  • Collaborating closely with Companies on revenue recognition with a specific focus percentage-of-completion accounting for work-in-progress.
  • Serving as the Company's technical accounting expert and updating the Audit Committee and Senior Management on changes to accounting rules and their impact on the business.
  • Working with Senior Management and Corporate Development on M&A activities, including integrating accounting processes and business combination accounting.
  • Supporting annual audits, tax filings, and other accounting projects.
  • Leading the team’s engagement in the organization’s transformation initiative and other strategic initiatives.
  • Automating current processes to improve efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance-related positions, with at least 3 years of management experience.
  • Knowledge of, and the ability to adhere to, GAAP with a specific focus on revenue recognition accounting standards including percentage-of-completion for construction contracts, lease accounting, and business combination accounting standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a fast-paced team with a strategic mindset towards modernizing processes while maintaining strong financial controls.
  • Track-record of improving systems and being part of a team that modernizes processes to drive a more efficient and scalable business model; ERP implementation experience is a plus.
  • Experienced with communicating and presenting the financial results to all levels of the company including senior executives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to multi-task, navigate through ambiguity, and manage conflict and difficult conversations in a fast-paced environment.
